“What was it called? Oh yeah! Snow White in Stupidtown!”

Duff Beer Tops: 5
Video Game Clichés: 1

Homer’s evening nap on the couch brings us into the first level of the game. The object of this level introduces the first of many parodies you’ll see throughout the game: follow the White Chocolate Rabbit.

“You probably wouldn’t be interested in eating me?!”

Videogame Cliché #1:  The Double-Jump Cliché can be achieved by simply performing a double-jump at any time during the episode by pressing the X button to jump and then pressing it again while in the air.

The White Chocolate Rabbit dashes off through a pretzel and leaves you to chase him. Follow him through the opening he created and jump across the chocolate river using the floating treats. The shiny star on the white ones indicates that it will propel you to the next treat. When you reach the end, you’ll be prompted to double-jump to get up the ledge. When you reach the top, you’ll be attacked by your first chocolate bunny. Beat him up and then watch Homer eat the head! Mmm, energy for your Power Burp. (You will learn about the Power Burp in a moment). Head on over the bridge, eating the treats you find on the ground as you go, and approach the chocolatiers carts. When you reach them, you are prompted to use the Power Burp to clear your path. Hold the O button until Homer is glowing and let loose with a Power Burp to clear the carts out of your way.

Gas is expensive; use it wisely.

Past the carts and down the path through the chocolate town, you'll notice that your power meter in the lower left of the screen has drained because of the Power Burp. That's OK. Beat up the attacking chocolate bunnies, the lollipop trees, other carts, benches or anything else that breaks  -- all grub for Homer to eat in order to charge the Power Burp. You’ll also notice a white sparkle on a bounce pad to the right that will bring you up to your first collectible: a Duff Bottle Top. A bit further down the path on the left, you’ll see another bounce pad that will bring you up to another Duff Bottle Top.

Only 153 more to go!

As you continue down the road towards the lovely fountain bearing Marge’s image, more chocolate bunnies will attack you. Don’t enjoy the scenery too long, as the fountain generates more chocolate bunnies! Power Burp the fountain away and the chocolate bunny attacks will stop. For now.

It’s a passive/aggressive Valentine’s Day thing.

Your next objective is to break the graham cracker gate found right near the Marge fountain. Give it a Power Burp or just give it a couple of smacks and it will easily fall before you. Once it’s down, continue to follow the path into the next area where you’ll find three more Marge fountains and a whole army of angry chocolate bunnies. Get in there and clear things out so you can see what you’re going to do next.

Smores!

Once you’ve taken care of the Marge fountains and the chocolate bunny hoards, look to the center of this area, where you’ll find a button on a pile of ice cream. If you’re having trouble finding it, just look for the big stinkin' arrows that points at it. Approach the button and you’ll be prompted to press it, which will raise the platforms in the chocolate moat around the giant cake. You can now use the platforms to climb onto the side of the cake.

550x278
The easiest button you never had to look for.

Make your way up the side of the cake using the various bounce pads, ladders and double jump ledges that clearly mark the path to the top. Be sure to walk around to the back of the second tier and pick up the Duff Bottle Top hidden back there. When you reach the top, the White Chocolate Rabbit is there waiting for you. Beat him up and eat his head. Do you sense the end of the first level coming?

550x278
It’s not real chocolate anyway.

When the White Chocolate Rabbit is gone, you’re prompted to press the R2 shoulder button (PS3 version) to transform into Homer Ball, which sends the top of the cake under you and you’ll fall in. Spontaneous gross obesity will do that to a guy.

550x275
Have you called Jenny?

Technically, all you have to at the bottom is to survive for 30 seconds, which isn’t really hard to do. There’s a whole bunch of angry chocolate bunnies surrounding one giant chocolate bunny head. On the other hand, if you want the two Duff Beer Tops located down here, you’ve got to work pretty quickly.

550x275
“What’s up, Doc?”

Destroy the giant chocolate bunny head and you’ll get one of them right away. The other is up on the side of the wall in here and you’ll need to use the Homer Ball Burst (Square button) to get up there and get it. This can be pretty tough since no matter how hard you try to aim for it, the attacking chocolate bunnies always seem to throw you off the mark. If you manage to grab it, the time is probably pretty close to up anyway and the screen will fade to white and you’ll return to Homer at home on his couch a bit perturbed that this was all a dream. When the final cut-scene is over, you’ll be able to bring Bart as a buddy and exit the house into Springfield to navigate around to the next episodes.
