Simpsons Game Walkthrough: Episode 9- Invasion of the Yokel-Snatchers

Invasion of the Yokel-Snatchers

“Where is mall security? They only seem to be around when you take a whiz in the fountain!”

Duff Bottle Tops: 4

Krusty Coupons: 3

Videogame Clichés: 1

As you begin this episode, you’ll have about 3 waves of aliens to fight off. There is a RoboBart power up on the inactive fountain in front of you which will help you fight off these attacks without taking a scratch. When all the aliens have cleared out, look for the FedUPS truck near where you started. There is a series of light above the truck that will allow you to grapple to the top of the truck to get the Krusty Coupon. This will also give you Videogame Cliché #12.

550x163
This really didn’t take you three hours to get, did it?

When you’ve claimed the collectible, continue through the area and go to the netting on the side of the Sprwal Mart truck. Climb the netting to get on top of the truck and more aliens will spawn. The safest thing for you to do here is to jump back down where Homer is and let the aliens come to you to get them out of the way. You have to be on top of the truck to get the next Krusty Coupon and if the aliens knock you off the truck on the wrong side, you won’t be able to go back and get it. Once the aliens have been cleared out, get back on top of the truck and go to the left. At the end of the truck, float across the lava to the piece of parking lot on the other side to get the Krusty Coupon.

550x163
This is how to avoid a lawsuit by adding three letters to a copyrighted name.

To get back to the other side, there is a switch near the Krusty Coupon. Activate the switch and you will release water from a pipe into the lava. You will be able to use the steam to float back to the top of the truck.

550x278
Homer waits patiently while pondering the fact that it’s Lenny’s birthday.

Now you can drop down to the other side of the truck. You need to get Homer over here, but first, grab the RoboBart power up and eliminate the next wave of attacking aliens. When they are gone, switch to Homer. Use the helium tank next to the Sprwal Mart truck to float to the top of the truck. Don't jump off the edge just yet.

550x163
There’s just barely enough helium to get to the top of the truck.

Walk to the end of the truck facing the area where Bart just picked up his Krusty Coupon. Activate the Homer Ball and Burst across the lava to this same area. Just off the right side of this, you will see the Duff Bottle Top. Get this collectible, then go to the edge of the chasm facing to the right of the Sprwal Mart truck and a Homer Ball Burst will get you back to the other side. If you did happen to fall off the edge before you had a chance to cross the lava, you can use the stairs attached to the trailer as a ramp to jump across the pit. Just turn into Homer Ball, angle yourself properly and use the Burst to jump the gap. You may fall into the lava a few times in doing so to get it right. Burst back across to the side of the truck with the helium tank and use it again to float over to the other side.

550x163
When you’re done being a really bloated guy, be a really fat guy.

Continue up to the end of this area where you’ll get to another helium tank. This is where you’ll be introduced to the Helium Burst. Activate the helium, and then press the square button to burst across the chasm to the other side. You’ll need to tap the X buttons a couple of times near the end to get just enough lift to reach onto the edge. When you get there, look to your left for a switch you can activate that will release more water into the lava, giving Bart more steam so he can float over and join you. Switch to Bart and join Homer.

As soon as Bart arrives on the other side, there will be yet another wave of aliens to fight off. The quickest way to get rid of the first wave of aliens is to switch immediately to Homer and use the Homer Ball Smash. Stay on the little area off to the side, which is out the range of the aliens standing on top of the truck. It’s pretty easy to die in this part and if you do, you start again from the beginning of the episode. When all the aliens on the ground are gone, switch to Bart and get the aliens on the top of the truck. When the aliens are gone and you approach the truck, more aliens will spawn in front of you. Take care of this wave as well. When all is cleared again, go through the truck and look for the netting on the back. Climb the netting, and when you get to the top, yet another wave of aliens will spawn. When all these are gone, then you will get a brief moments peace to grab the collectible in this area.

If you haven’t already, switch to Homer and use the stack of tires to jump up onto the truck. Walk out on the red beam and then jump to the ledge on the side of the building. Walk around the corner and the Duff Bottle Top will be yours.

550x163
Expect to hang from the ledge; it looks like you’ll make the jump at first.

Now go to the edge of the chasm facing the blue marker you see across the lava. You’ll see another Duff Bottle Cap on the ledge below next to the marker. Activate Homer Ball and Burst across the lava to this ledge to claim this collectible.

550x278
You’ll probably land on the bottle cap.

Now walk to the other end of this ledge to find an Insanity Pepper power-up. Before you grab it, look around to see where you’re going. Off in the distance across the lava, you should see another Duff Bottle Cap. Once you’ve found it, grab the Insanity Pepper, roll out to grab the collectible and quickly roll back before the time runs out on the power-up.

550x278
1 – 2 – 3 – done!

Safely back on the ledge; use the stack of tires to bounce up to the next area. It will stay alien-free up here, so just find the nearby switch to release more water so Bart can float over here with you.

550x278
This is getting a bit repetitive.

As Bart, look for the other switch in this area before attempting to enter the mall doors. Activate this switch and you will again release water to create steam for Bart to float on. Float across this new steam to get to the pole out in the middle of the lava. Climb to the top of the pole and turn so you can jump to the ledge to the left. You’ll have to double-jump and float to make it to the ledge, where you’ll be able to claim the last collectible for this episode. Use the stack of tires to rejoin Homer.

When you have rejoined Homer, step on one of the
automatic door pads with a blue marker on it and Homer will step on the other. Enter the doors when they open. You will begin a rather twisted game of Space Invaders. You are either going to feel the nostalgia or you’re going to ask your dad what Space Invaders is. This part is best done using Bart. Arm the Sling Shot and begin to quickly shoot the army of aliens as they work their way to the bottom of the screen. Shoot them all before they reach the bottom while dodging the laser from the UFO that will intermittently run across the top of the screen. There will be three waves of aliens. When the last wave is completed, a blue ray of light will come down into the middle of the game area. Step into the ray of light and you’ll be beamed onto the spaceship.

550x163
“We’re gonna party like its 1979!”

Once on the spaceship, you’ve got to save Cletus and his “stank bone." Go to the bed Cletus is strapped to and activate the switch next to it. This will release Cletus and give you a short cut-scene, after which you will move on to the final fight of the episode.

550x278
“Technically, it’s a hovel.”

Homer is the way to go for this last showdown. On the walls around the room, you will see portals that aliens are spawning from. Beneath each portal is a yellow and red “eye." Activate Homer Ball and Burst up the purple and green ramp (it sure is colorful in here, isn’t it?) to hit the “eye." Each one will take two hits to destroy. There are a total of five of these portals in this room. If Homer needs a break, switch to Bart and look for the RoboBart power-up in here on the floor by some boxes. This will help thin the crowd when it starts getting overly populated.

550x278
“Resistance is futile . . . and totally lame!”

After you’ve destroyed the final portal, a short cut-scene will play that shows a button coming out of the floor at one side of the room. When the cut-scene is over, walk over and push the button. Enjoy your conversation with Sideshow Bob. Now go get some dinner. You’ve been playing this game all day and your mom is going to get cranky!

“I told you to pick up your space rake!
