Game Over
This final episode begins automatically when Episode 15 ends. You return to Springfield after your fight with Matt Groening fails to end the alien attack. Lisa convinces everyone that the only thing left to do is talk to the one being that has power over Mr. Groening: God. Lisa builds a tower with her Buddha powers so that everyone can climb to Heaven and speak to Him. In this episode you will have all four characters to use.
Duff Bottle Tops: 7
Krusty Coupons: 8
Try-N-Save Coupons: 5
Malibu Stacy Seals: 5
Videogame Clichés: 1
Somehow, Marge and Lisa have made it past Shakespeare and Homer and Bart are trapped outside the gate. Your first task is to make it past him to rejoin your family. Shakespeare floats on his cloud near the gate and as you damage him, he will move to either the left or right side of the gate. His only attack is his quill, which seems quite harmless, but it has an impressive blast radius when it gets near you. The best attack to use on him is Homer’s Gummi attack. It does the most damage to him more quickly than anything else. Keep in mind that the boxes around you contain plenty of food to keep Homer recharged. When Shakespeare is down and out, the gate will open and you can proceed with your family.
“I’ll tame your shrew!”
Proceed through the gate and up the hill and as you near the top, you’ll be attacked by a swarm of aliens. Automatically you will receive Videogame Cliché #27. You can best eliminate the initial wave of aliens with the Homer Ball Smash and then let Bart get rid of the stragglers with his Sling Shot. You might even notice that Bart’s Sling Shot now fires golden Sonic the Hedgehog-style rings!
“Hey! Heaven smells like lotion!”
When all the aliens have been dispersed, look to the building on the right with all the video games and the giant Atari 2600 controller. Jump up onto the controller and again onto the red button and out will spew collectibles for everyone!
That is much more satisfying than anything we ever got from pushing the original 2600 button!
Claiming the last collectibles may subject you to a barrage of loggers, so disperse of them as you see fit. There is another collectible near the arcade style video games. Look over near the blue machines in the middle of the right wall and Marge can grab another Try-N-Save Coupon there. It does blend in pretty well with the blue machines, so look carefully for it.
Heaven’s game room is a little behind the times.
Above the building with the arcade is a cloud with a grapple point on it. Get Bart near the Atari 2600 controller and he can grapple up to it. Walk around to the shelter on the end of the roof and there is another Krusty Coupon inside there for him.
Believe it or not, you can actually see the end of the episode from up here.
Continue to the right behind the arcade building. If you didn’t get attacked by the loggers earlier, you will now. Up ahead is an Officer Marge power-up to help you if you need it. Go behind the building right next to the Officer Marge power-up and there is another Try-N-Save Coupon behind it.
Heavenly savings!
Continuing in this direction, go to the next building where you’ll find a cloud bounce pad at the corner behind the shredder. You will most likely encounter more loggers on the way, so be prepared for that. Since the Officer Marge power-up is nearby, that's your most effective and handiest weapon to use. This is the Hellfish building, in case you need to check the sign at the front to make sure you’re in the right place. Switch to Lisa and use the bounce pad to get onto the roof and claim a Malibu Stacy Seal.
Why does Heaven look suspiciously like Ft. Lauderdale?
Move around to the next building, the House of Hendrix, and you should be able to see the collectible on the roof. There is a cloud above and in front of this building that Bart can grapple to and then float the rest of the way to the roof where he can claim the Krusty Coupon.
We think Jimi Hendrix would appreciate the psychedelic nature of this game.
Continue to the last building you can get to in this direction. Since he is, of course, not really dead yet, it has been kindly reserved for Elvis, in true Las Vegas style. Switch to Homer and use the stairs at the front of this building to Ball Burst up onto the roof. Around the back you’ll find the Duff Bottle Top.
Graceland would have been a much more ironic name for this building.
Now return to the arcade building where you came into this area and you’ll go to the building on the other side. Going around it will bring on a barrage of aliens and loggers, so take care of them as you see fit. There is a cloud pad in front of the building opposite the arcade, so you can get on the roof to grab a RoboBart power-up to quickly eliminate this group. When all has been quieted, continue around in this direction. Between the second and third buildings you’ll see a blue and white tent. Switch to Lisa and you can jump up on the tent and bounce up onto the roof of the building it is next to and grab a Malibu Stacy Seal.
Getting onto the tent can be a bit picky. Try jumping up from the back of the tent.
Switch back to Bart and look on the very top of the third building. You’ll see the collectible up there waiting for you. You have two options to get there: there is a cloud in front of and above the building just barely out of camera view that you can grapple to and then float to the roof, or you can get up on the roof of the second building using the blue and white tent that Lisa used, and then jump and float over to the third. Either way, once you’re up there, hop up to the top and grab the Krusty Coupon.
The collectible hunt could have been easily stated by saying “check every roof”.
Move to the last building with the pink Maude Flanders sign out front. There is a cloud above and to the left of the building Bart can grapple to that will allow him to float down onto the roof. The Krusty Coupon is around the back side of the central roof structure.
We’ll finally be moving on here shortly.
Surely you see the Duff Bottle Top on this roof as well, so switch back to Homer. On the ground beside the building is a cart. Use the cart to Ball Burst onto the roof and claim this collectible.
We’re all done with the roof jumping . . . or are we?
Switch to Lisa and proceed down the stairs in front of the Maude Flanders building to the walkway with the star shaped structure on it. Turn right and go to the closed golden gate. On the ledge on your right when you reach the gate there is a Malibu Stacy Seal. Grab the collectible and switch back to Bart.
Time to make a little progress now.
Go back to the bottom of the stairs that come down from the Maude Flanders building and turn to face the ledge that looks over the clouds in the center of the area. From here, Bart can grapple out and land on the nearest cloud to his right. On this platform, grapple to a second platform, then you can jump and float to the closest one that is rising and falling to your right.
Golf in Heaven - because you want to play the world’s most boring sport there too.
Time your jumps and you can jump easily across the next two platforms. On the third one, turn to the left and get near the edge of the platform. When the platform rises to the necessary height, you’ll see the indication that you can grapple to a higher platform. Arriving there, you will find that you can grapple yet one more time. From this highest platform, look down and to the right for a rounded ledge far below you. Jump and float down to this ledge.
That’s probably the coolest place to float from ever!
On the ledge you’ll see a switch. Activate the switch and all of the previously-closed golden gates will open and the rest of the family will join you. Switch to Marge and go to the left (as you are looking out at the clouds you just came from as Bart) to the nearest golden gate. On the right side of the walkway as you approach the gate is a Try-N-Save Coupon.
If you’ve been bored up to this point, trust that stuff is about to hit the fan.
Switch to Bart and head back toward the switch you opened the gates with. Turn right to head up the large stairs, grabbing the RoboBart power-up on the way. As soon as your feet touch the stairs, a huge swarm of aliens will appear at the top. RoboBart can quickly clear this crowd and allow you to make it to the top of the stairs. Ignore the gold gate at the top for now and go to the left.
Switch to Marge before going down the short set of stairs and get the Officer Marge power-up at the bottom near the railing. Head into the grassy area and another swarm of aliens will appear. You can let Officer Marge handle the crowd on the ground and when they are all gone, switch to Bart and eliminate the stragglers on the nearby roof with his Sling Shot. There may be one on the roof that you can’t reach, but you’ll get him in a minute.
That is a whole lot of aliens!
There is a cloud above the roof that the aliens were just on that Bart can grapple to. Use it to get up there and go over to the shelter at the end of the roof. Now you can defeat the alien inside, if you couldn’t get him from the ground. When he is gone, you can grab the Krusty Coupon he was guarding.
How dare he try to keep you from your collectibles!
Return to the ground and rejoin the family. Switch to Marge and proceed along the long angled wall. Follow it and when you get near the end of it, you will see the last Try-N-Save Coupon of the episode on the upper edge of the angled wall.
You are about to clean up on some collectible trophies!
Switch to Lisa and turn to the left to go around behind the building that the aliens were on. As you near the corner of the building, you’ll see the Malibu Stacy Seal in the trees on your right. Claim the collectible and note that this is also Lisa’s last collectible of the episode.
We have to be close to the end of the episode, don’t we?
Once you’ve finished with Lisa here, switch to Homer and continue around to the back of the building. In the back right corner amidst the trees you will find a Duff Bottle Top to pick up.
Hope you rested up; you’re about to get back into the heavy stuff.
Return to the gold gate that you ignored earlier at the top of the large stairs. Use the stairs as a ramp and Ball Burst up and over the gate into the next area. This will bring on the evil dolphins, so when you get inside quickly go to the right side of the gate and activate the switch there to open the gate and let everyone else in with you. The remaining collectibles for this episode are in this general vicinity but we’ll work on getting rid of the dolphins first and come back to them.
This could look like SeaWorld from the right angle, but we’re not feeding those dolphins.
The object here is to get Lisa to the Buddha in the middle of the dolphin area. The best method we found is to switch to Bart, return to the bottom of the stairs and grab the RoboBart power-up. Run back up and use the laser to clear out as many dolphins as possible, as they keep coming from the small pools. When Lisa has a clear path, switch to her and activate the Hand of Buddha. Use the Buddha’s Freeze power to turn a dolphin into a block of ice. Pick up the ice block and drop it on the hot rocks in between the pools the dolphins are coming from. This will create a plume of steam for Bart to float on as well as stop the dolphins from spawning. Exit the Buddha or use it to finish off the last of the dolphins.
You’re using Buddha power in Heaven!
It’s finally time to finish off all the story-based collectibles in the game! Switch to Bart and look toward the building on the right (as you came in the gate). Use the steam Lisa created to float up and onto the roof of this building. Follow the roof all the way out to the small shelter at the end, past the gate where you entered the dolphin area. The Krusty Coupon is inside the small shelter.
We know you see the Duff Bottle Top in the background, Homer will be there shortly.
Instead of rejoining the family, jump off the roof of the building to the other side. The cloud bounce pad will just put you back up on the roof so avoid it. Climb up the nearby vines on the wall to the small balcony area to claim Bart’s last Krusty Coupon of the episode! Once you have the collectible and your newest trophy, you can leave Bart here and switch to Homer.
Ah! The sweet smell of almost done!
On the right (as you entered the dolphin area) you’ll find a helium tank near the archways. Use the tank to float up and Helium Dash back across to the roof of the building on the opposite side. This can prove both challenging and frustrating and our experience shows us that most of the time that you actually make it, it will be just barely. When you finally make it onto the roof, enter the shelter at the back to claim the Duff Bottle Top.
If we weren’t so close to the end of the game, that wouldn’t be worth the aggravation.
Return to the helium tank and use it again to get onto the roof of the building you are standing next to (the same building Bart was on earlier). You probably saw this collectible when you were up here with Bart, but in the larger shelter nearest the gate to the dolphin area, you’ll find the Duff Bottle Top. There is also an alternative way of getting this bottle cap. If you go outside the gate where all the aliens came out. Go to the left side of the gate. You shoud see a ramp like sidewalk. Homerball Dash up and try to land on the skinny concrete wall. Double jump to next area and the cap is right there. I have tried this once and it worked. Good luck
We told you Homer would get here soon.
Now you can drop off of the roof onto the balcony that Bart picked up his last collectible on and pick up Homer’s last Duff Bottle Top!
Just jump, Homer!
With all of our collecting done, it’s time to get the family together and find God – literally. Hop off the balcony and go to the nearby gate that separates Homer and Bart from the rest of the family. Step on one of the gold buttons on the floor and the other character will automatically step on the other which will open the gate so all can be together again.
Gold buttons on the ground – bringing families together since Tomb Raider.
Up to this point Marge has played a very small role in this episode, so let’s put her to work. Follow the path down to the line of children waiting outside the building. Enlist all four kids into her mob and go over to the building materials that are inside the fencing. Command the kids to use the materials to build the coffee shop.
Take the children away from the coffee shop, so they can build a coffee shop.
Children being the way they are, they seem to have built a coffee shop with a pre-installed Benjamin Franklin. Ben’s the key to getting to God, and he’s not too keen on letting any of you in, so it will now become necessary to eliminate him. He’s not a very difficult opponent but when his health is drained he splits into smaller Bens. He is quickly and easily finished off with Homer’s Gummi attack. When he is gone, you will now be able to pass through the gate and take the escalator to God!
“No way, Lisa, you’re a bigger butt kisser than Thomas Jefferson!”
The final boss battle of the game consists of none other than three rounds of Dance Dance Revolution with God!
Each round, God will play with one of the three major consoles; the Praystation, the Xodus Box and the Hii. As the various characters from the game advance down the playing area, match the directional button they hit as they reach the bottom. If you have time to look, you’ll see that each character is standing on a direction and by hitting the corresponding button, they will jump in response. A round ends when you successfully match most of the directions and God’s console overheats. When all three rounds are successfully completed, you will have beaten God as well as The Simpsons Game!
“God sucks at video games!”
“All right, Loser, you stop the destruction of our town and give us some answers or these save games go in the drink!”
