Lisa the Tree Hugger
After completing Around the World in 80 Bites, you have unlocked Lisa as a new game buddy. Take the bus or walk over to this next episode, and as soon as you step into the marker, you will begin the episode as Bart and Lisa. Time to learn some new tricks!

You begin outside the gate of the tree clearing facility, where three cranky loggers are waiting for you. Give Lisa’s Sax Stun a test with these guys -- you'll easily knock them out. Continue through the open gate and right in front of you will be Lisa’s Clobber Girl power-up in the form of a magazine. More loggers come after you, so grab it right away and start knocking them out. Similar to the Marge fountains in the first episode, the loggers keep coming until you destroy the light blue Port-A-Potty. One punch while Lisa is powered up will destroy it.
When the area is cleared of enemies, you are now free to play with Lisa’s Hand of Buddha power. Look for the glowing Buddha on the tree stump near the next door and stand in front of it. Press the triangle button (PS3) to activate the power. You are now in an overhead view of the area and Lisa's giant hand floats above. (Now we just need the giant fork, giant noodle and giant meatball and she’s good for dinner.) You can now move the hand around and pick up objects by pressing the R1 button (PS3). Let’s start by taking care of the two collectibles in this area. Pick up the rock off the front of the tractor and just drop it off to the side. Now you can switch to Bart and he can use the tractor to jump up to the tree branch with the Krusty Coupon on it.
Switch back to Lisa and reactivate the Hand of Buddha. This time pick up the tree in the lower left of the area and drop them on their matching stump in the upper left of the area near the next gate. Two things have just happened. As you pick up the lighter colored tree section, you may have noticed there was a new collectible underneath: Lisa’s Malibu Stacy Seal. In addition, you have now created platforms you can use to jump up to the switch to open the next gate.
Double-jump your way up to the switch and activate it. As one would expect, this will annoy the loggers inside. Eliminate the loggers and the Potty that creates them as quickly as you can. Just inside and to the left in this new area is yet another Buddha. Climb the ladder up to it and activate it. This time look for the small dome-like cover over the steam vent located just to the bottom right of the conveyor belt. Use the hand of Buddha to pick up the dome. Just drop it to the side somewhere, you don’t need it. You’ve now uncovered a vent that may come in handy. You will also see that the conveyor belt stops.
Switch to Bart and use the newly opened vent to float up onto the conveyor belt. Go over to the platform and push triangle to kick the black spring off the edge so Lisa can get up there with you. Once she is up, go up to the top of the conveyor belt and you’ll see two very nasty looking grind wheels. Not to be left without a way out, you’ll also see two very bright red buttons. Step on one and the other character will step on the other. The grind wheels will destroy themselves and you will be able to move on.
As soon as you continue into this new section, there is a one logger on either side of the belt, both shooting at you. Bart’s Sling Shot will quickly take them down without much fuss. Beyond these two guys, there is only one thing in here that you need to take care of: a Malibu Stacy Seal. Switch to Lisa and jump over the left side of the conveyor down to the ground, where you’ll find a Malibu Stacy Seal. You can easily get back up using the spring near the Seal or you can walk around to the platform on the other side of the conveyor and use the ladder.
Continue up the conveyor belt and as you approach the next area, you’ll get Videogame Cliché #6. Switch to Bart as you approach the saw blades. Time your double-jumps to get over the first vertical blade, around the horizontal blade, and over the second vertical blade. Climb the ladder up to the platform. Using Bart’s Sling Shot target the button at the back of this area and shoot it. This will shut down the blades.
There are now two collectibles here you can easily grab before you continue on. Bart can grab the Krusty Coupon from the top of the arm that the horizontal blade swung from. Down on the ground to the left of the conveyor belt is another Malibu Stacy Seal for Lisa. Again, there is a platform with a ladder on the other side of the conveyor so she can get back up.
Jump up the conveyor belt to the next section and around to the left. Weave your way through the next three blades and get to the platform at the other end. There you will find a switch you can activate that will shut down the blades, so the other character can easily catch up to you.
Your timing has to be just a bit better with this last set of blades. Yes, we said this was the last set, so breathe easy. Double-jump over the first vertical blade as the two horizontal blades is at the furthest point from each other. Run up the side of the conveyor where the horizontal blade will not be coming at your face. You will have enough time to double-jump over the second vertical blade to relative safety. Once you are safely past the blades, continue up the belt, around the corner to the left, and to the platform with the switch. Activate the switch and the other character can catch up so you can forget about the saw blades and go back to the angry loggers.
Best bet now is to switch to Lisa if you haven’t already. Jump down to the ground, grab the Clobber Girl power-up and drop the two loggers down there. Don’t go too far up the path or you’ll fall into the toxic waste. (You’ll handle that situation in a minute.) First, let’s help Bart get another collectible. Jump the rocks up to the Buddha and activate it. Find the saw blade lying on the ground and pick it up. Drop it near the tree with the slot in it, which falls magically into the right spot. It’s pretty easy from here. Just switch to Bart and jump up the blades to grab the Krusty Coupon.
Now you can take care of the toxic waste dilemma. Switch back to Lisa and again activate the Hand of Buddha. Pick up the piece of conveyor belt -- it’s the only piece you can grab within the “Buddha boundary”-- and drop it over the river of toxic waste. Turn the camera so you can see what you’re doing, but once you’ve picked it up, you barely have to move to get it in the right place. You’ve made a bridge.
When you cross the bridge you will get a quick cut-scene and then it looks like things can get pretty hectic, but you are provided with enough tools here to make pretty quick work of this area. The recommended method here is to switch to Bart and immediately grab the RoboBart power up. Now simply run forward blasting everything and everybody in sight with the laser until you get all the way to the end where you can destroy the two Port-A-Potties. During the course of this little adventure, you will most likely blow up an exploding barrel which will give you Videogame Cliché #7.
When peace has been restored, there are two more collectibles in here to pick up before you move on. Since you are already Bart, head back to where you picked up the RoboBart power-up and look up on a little ledge to the right. You’ll see it sitting right there. Switch to Lisa and head back up toward where the Port-A-Potties were and you’ll see a spring on your left. Jumping on it will bounce you right up to a Malibu Stacy Seal.
Continue forward and you’ll see a Buddha on a rock to your left. Jump up there and activate it. Grab each of the two large green toxic waste barrels and drop them onto the conveyor belt on the right. They will go into the grinder and explode, destroying the grinder and leaving a spring on the ground near the log wall. Switch to Bart and bounce on over.
Just on the other side, you’ll see a tree stump where Bart can jump up and grab a wire to grapple to the other side of the river. Do so, and when you get there, jump off and lay to waste the loggers that await you. Don’t forget to destroy the Port-A-Potty over there, too. For your destructive pleasure, a RoboBart power-up is not-so-conveniently placed on the dock furthest from you. When the area is clear, find the switch on the dock closest to the grapple wire.
Activate the switch and the dam will open, pouring out slabs of wood while simultaneously releasing chomping alligators and wishy-washy turtles from the other direction. Enter the Frogger parody. When you’re done with your nostalgic flashback, look for the Krusty Coupon on the island in the center of the river. See if you’ve still got the Frogger skills and jump out there to get it. If you sucked at it, fear not -- you get some more practice to get back to shore. Once you’re back on dry land, switch to Lisa.
Lisa’s trip across the river will give you the more traditional top-down view of the original game. Make your way carefully across, since the timing for the landing is pretty picky. As with Bart, there is also a collectible out here on the river for Lisa. Once you reach the island in the middle and jump out onto the boards in the second half, get on the second row of boards and ride them all the way to the right. The Malibu Stacy Seal is sitting on a little gray ledge. Grab it, get to the other side and get on dry land with Bart. Knock out the loggers that welcome you over. There is a Clobber Girl power-up on the center dock should you choose to use it.
When all the activity has been quieted and you are free to move on to the next objective, look up on the cliff on the left side of this area for the Buddha. Climb up there and activate the Hand of Buddha. You need to rearrange the pipes on the wall to get Bart over to the gray platform on the right, but doing so starts a small timed mission. Instead, first get Bart to his final collectible for this episode. First, pull the elbow off the top of the straight piece of pipe and lay it on the ground. Now pull the straight piece up and lay it to the side as well. Pick the elbow back up and drop it to the hole in the wall on the left. Now you should be able to switch to Bart, float up to the middle platform and then jump and float over to the left platform where the Krusty Coupon is.
Switch back to Lisa and again activate the Hand of Buddha. All you have to do from here is pick up the straight piece and drop it on the hole in the ground on the right. The Hand of Buddha will automatically deactivate before a quick cut-scene pops in, and when that's over, you’ll be on a one minute timer.
Quickly switch to Bart and use the new pipe configuration to float up to the gray platform. When you reach it you will have to shimmy to the right around it to get to where you can drop off. Once you can, quickly jump over to the conveyor and activate the switch there. This will open the gate so Lisa can get up here.
Switch to Lisa and get up there on the conveyor with Bart. There's a Buddha near the switch that Bart used to open the gate. Activate the Hand of Buddha, move over to the conveyor with Lenny and Carl on it, and pull the branches off them. Doing so will switch you over to a cut-scene and end the timed part of this level. Enjoy their undying gratitude.
It’s all over now but the destruction. Switch to Bart and step up onto the conveyor Lenny and Carl were on. Look inside the factory, past the large gears and you’ll see a target in there. Lock on to the target with the Sling Shot, time your shot to get around the gears, and kick back to watch the slow-mo cut-scene of your rock slipping through the gears, hitting the target and destroying the factory!
