Simpsons Game Walkthrough:Episode 3-Around the World in...80 Bites!

Around the World in 80 Bites

Around the World in 80 bites starts with you in Springfield trapped behind street barriers. Go through the brief tutorial to learn the Homer Ball Smash and the Homer Ball Burst, two moves you'll use to break through the barriers. Then you can find a bus stop to get the marker for EP 3, or simply walk to it.

Duff Beer Tops: 6
Krusty Coupons: 6
Videogame Clichés: 2

First things first, switch to Homer and grab the Duff Bottle Top on the ramp to the right. This entire episode is on a series of timers, so you don’t have time to waste screwing around looking for stuff. As soon as Homer has the collectible, switch back to Bart and continue up the ramp to the end. Jump up and glide to the red ledge slightly to the left, then jump up onto the bridge and go to the end of it to find a Krusty Coupon. Jump off the bridge once you have it into Australia and you’ll get two minutes added to your time.

Quick, people, QUICK!

In Australia, have Homer stand on the red seesaw-like rock and switch the way it is leaning. Switch back to Bart and use the rock to jump up onto the red ledge with another Krusty Coupon. When you have it, switch back to Homer and run down the ramp into the next area, Mexico.

550x278
Eventually, you’ll get to the actual eating contest part of the level.

There are two more collectibles and a Videogame Cliché, so while you still have some time on the clock, get the Duff Bottle Top and the Cliché first. Look for the small ramp with the piñata on it. Activate Homer Ball and get rid of it with a Homer Ball Burst. Deactivate Homer Ball and stand on top of the now empty ramp. Jump up onto the table umbrellas and they will bounce you over to the top of the giant -- um -- Mexican hat, where you will find the Insanity Pepper power-up which makes Homer temporarily stronger and invincible. Picking it up will also give you the first Videogame Cliché of the episode.

550x163
The picking up of collectibles was obviously not factored into the time limit.

Now that Homer is temporarily invincible, roll off and in behind the wall with the barbed wire. Behind it you will find another Duff Bottle Top. Roll back out before the power up runs out.

550x275
Trying to figure out the significance of Mexico and barbed wire is politically incorrect.

Videogame Cliché #5: The Combo Punch Cliché can be achieved by repeatedly knocking out opponents with a combo punch using the square, square, triangle button combo. You must use the combo punch somewhere around 25 times to get the Cliché credit. Which country the punches are performed in does not matter as long as the proper number of combos has been achieved between the time you start the episode and the time you finish it. The exact number was difficult to determine as things are quite hectic while doing it and it is hard to tell sometimes when they counted and when they didn’t.

Switch to Bart and look around for the giant Duff Beer sign with the lady waving a fan. Notice the breeze coming up from the fan --in videogame terminology, this is referred to as a clue. Use Bartman’s ability to float on the breeze and float up to the red roof. Follow the roof around to find the wire that Bart can grapple across to get a Krusty Coupon. When you get to the end of the wire, you’ll need to jump and then float to the roof the Krusty Coupon is on.

550x163
Bet you can’t wait to play this episode without needing to look for collectibles.

Finally, it's time to move on. Switch back to Homer and activate the Homer Ball. Look for the giant taco on the Duff Beer sign and use the Homer Ball Burst to smash through it into the next area, Sweden. As soon as you get into Sweden, look for a red and black pole that Homer can climb and use it to get up to the platforms. Follow the platforms around and grab the Duff Beer Top you find at the end.

550x278
Eating giant tacos is the only way to get to Sweden.

There isn’t a whole lot else to do in Sweden, so find the ramp that will lead you up into France. At the top of the ramp, turn around to the right and look for yet another Duff Beer Top sitting on the edge of the wall.

550x275
Finally, an easy and obvious collectible.

When you get to France, switch over to Bart and head for the blue marker on the platform behind the Eiffel Tower. Groundskeeper Willie has blocked the entrance to Scotland, so you’re going to need to get up there and flip the switch to open the gate back up. Jump up onto the platform and use the umbrellas to bounce over to the blower so you can float up to the nearby roof. Up there you’ll find a wire Bartman can use to grapple across to the EiffelTower. Once you are on the tower, step onto the lift and press the button to go to the top. At the top, use Bartman’s ability to float down to the large blue platform with the “X” on it.

550x163
We must get to the Haggis!

Once you are on the wall, run across and flip the switch so Homer can get into Scotland.

550x275
Our character jumped and flew and grappled around France, and all we got was this lousy switch.

Jump down into Scotland and look for the blue and white pole that Bart can climb. Climb up, jump and float over to the vines on the wall. Carefully crawl across to the left, stopping to wait out the flames so you can get by. Once you get to the end, jump and float over to the ledge to claim another Krusty Coupon.

550x278
Climb, float, climb, avoid flames, climb more, float more . . . all the makings of a fine video game!

Switch to Homer. As soon as you enter the Scotland area, look to your left. In a little room you’ll see a Duff Bottle Top. Next, we’ll help Bart get to Italy.

550x275
Homer really gets it easy with these things.

Exit the room where you got the Duff Bottle Top, and straight in front of you is a ramp that leads up to the Stonehenge structure. Activate Homer Ball and use the Burst to go up the ramp and knock down the structure. Now that you have access to this upper area, go over and stand on the large bagpipe. Again, activate Homer Ball and use the Smash to start the bagpipes blowing. Once the bagpipes are activated, switch to Bart and head up there. Use the fallen stones to jump onto the blowing bagpipes and float over to the bridge ahead. As with Scotland, activate the switch to open the door into Italy.

550x163
Only in a Simpsons game can you get saved by a windbag.

Switch back to Homer and enter Italy. As soon as you enter, go to the left and look for the red and gray ramp that leads to the food court. Go in there and turn to the right and go to the corner and you’ll find Homer’s last Duff Bottle Top for this episode.

550x278
Episode is almost over. Can we get to the eating contest?!

Now run back out to Italy’s main area and look in the center for the ramp and the giant meatball. Activate Homer Ball and use the Blast to go up the ramp and destroy the meatball. This will cause the giant spaghetti noodle to unravel from the giant fork (what else?). Switch to Bart and climb the noodle -- that's something you don’t hear everyday  -- to get to the second level of the ruins. Once you’re on the second level, head to the right and climb the ladder and go up to the top of the platforms to access the third level. On the third level, head back over to the left and run until you see the Golden Gate Bridge.

550x163
In ancient Italy, food was freakin’ HUGE!

When you see the bridge, turn back around. Look for another ladder on the wall there. Climb the ladder and run across the top of this small ledge, floating over the gaps all the way to the end and you’ll find a Krusty Coupon. When you have it, go back to the Golden Gate Bridge.

550x278
They couldn’t have put this one in the Food Court, could they?!

Go down the ramp onto the bridge and go to the bridge pillar on the right with the vines on it. Climb the vines all the way to the top, jump onto the top beam of the bridge and look down and to the right. Over the Food Courtyou’ll see a gray platform. Float down to the platform and at the end of it you’ll find your last Krusty Coupon for this episode. Of course, to finish this episode, you now have to run all the way back to the center of Italy, climb the noodle and go all the way back up to the Golden Gate Bridge as you did the first time.

550x163
Never mind -- guess there was one at the Food Court. Sheesh!

Again, climb back up the vine to the top of the bridge. This time, look straight down in front of you to the switch on the pillar to the right of the American Flag gate. Perhaps you should float down to it and activate that switch. It might open the gate.

550x278
The only time ever you will get to cross the Golden Gate Bridge and find the Statue of Liberty at the other end.

Switch over to Homer and let’s end this thing. You no longer have a timer and a boss health gauge appears at the top of the screen. Your boss in this case is the Statue of “Liberty." Lady Fast Food is surrounded by mechanical dancing girls. Taking her down is so easy that you can do it from the comfort of your couch with chocolate donut smeared on your face -- just the way Homer likes it. Hop onto the round platform and activate Homer Ball. When the boss is about to face you, Smash the platform and the dancing girls will fall away. When the girls are out of the way, Homer Ball Burst into the front of the statue. This takes away about a third of her health. Wash, rinse, and repeat from here on. Do this procedure two more times and she’ll finally drop her giant cheeseburger. When she does, roll your fat butt over to it and give it a smash. Congratulations, you’ve completed the episode!

550x278
This is about as politically irreverent as you can get.

550x275
“We’ll have to get that aaaaAA-djusted!”
